When I was young and the world was laid out before me,
There was nothing that I wanted.
I passed through life,
Unscathed by its trials,
Untouched by its difficulties.
I wanted nothing more than simply to be.
And one day I looked back,
I saw the life that stretched out behind me
and saw nothing that I wanted.
I had passed through life,
Unscathed and untouched,
Older, but still a child-
In love with my trials and difficulties.
And I wanted.
